Faculty: Meena Alexaner

Meena Alexander has two new books forthcoming: her eighth book of poetry Atmospheric Embroidery (TriQuarterly Books/ Northwestern U Press) and the anthology Name me a Word: Indian Writers Reflect on Writing (Yale U Press). She is the editor of Indian Love Poems and author of the critically acclaimed memoir Fault Lines. Her awards include those from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Fulbright Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Arts Council of England. She received the PEN Open Book Award and the Imbongi Yesizwe International Poetry Award from South Africa. In 2011 she was poet in Residence at Al Quds University, Palestine; In 2014 she was named a National Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla and in 2016 she was part of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the Ghetto Nuovo, Venice.
